Hi I would buy a separate Preamplifier /Power Amplifier to get the best possible sound.I presume this is for a two channel stereo system. One of the best sounding amp combinations is made by NAD.The sound is very sweet and musical and they are designed in Great Britain.

If you like the sound of the B&W 801s then you should buy them unless there are some similar sounding ones you may like to audition.

Here is NAD combination you may like to check out. (AWESOME!!!)

The 801's will cost far more than $7,000 alone...if you are looking at the Nautilus 801's.

I would check on a pair of 700 series (http://www.bwspeakers.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/products.ranges/label/RANGE%20700%20Series

and a fantastic amp would be an Adcom...

Personally I would look at the Adcom GFA-5500 and a pair of B&W 704's.

How many speakers are we talking about here? 2 for stereo or 5 for surround. Either way, check

If they don't have a dealer right where you live, they are worth the trip and anyone carrying them will be able to advise you on the amp.

The 801s are too bassy...Save your money and get the 802s instead...Click here to see how we use our 802s: http://www.avtruths.com/ultimatesetup.html
