Question:
What is a good in-wall amplifier for a simple flat screen application?

I'm installing a flat screen in a bathroom behind 2-way mirror glass. Since it is essentially in the wall, I will be using a model that is a monitor - no speakers - and mounting some ceiling speakers for the sound. I'm looking for an amp that can be mounted inside or on the surface of a wall that will automatically turn on when a signal comes into it and drive 2 speakers. 50 - 100 Watts would be fine as this is just a simple application in a bathroom. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Check out amps by Sonance or possibly Niles or Russound. But you can't build an amp into a wall--it needs ventilation., and it would be against code to build it in.

If you're going to be running wire to your in ceiling/wall speakers, then I'd run wire at the same time for the amplifier and any other sources you might end up using in the future. Absolutely cannot install an "in-wall" amplifier... you can install an amplifier in a small space with a separate fan or ventilation system. What about installing your equipment in a nearby closet with ventilation and possibly a fan set up and running IR through it all? You could use something as small as a Stewart amp or as large and complex as a QSC or Crown amp... You could purchase a nice Middle Atlantic BRK series rack and thow that in the closet, add some Speakercraft or Xantech IR emitters and receivers and you'd be good to go!

If you purchased the TV, then the store that you bought it from should offer installation services. Pay for it. If you want to do it yourself, then go to Lowes and buy a studfinder. Thfinder picks-up n the nails in the drywall. Those are nailed into the studs. If you do not want to do that, then from a corner, measure 16". That should put you on the "center" of a stud. Then every 16" after that. Once you find the studs, use the proper hangers that will support the weight of the TV and mount. Do not be afraid to go overkill on this.

50-100 watts wouldnt be necessary, unelss you want to jam out while in the shower or something.

for comfortable listening i would just use computer speakers. but if you want to do it professional and dont really care how much you spend, go to ebay and look for home theater amps, (5-20$) and a 50-100watt amp, (home theater amps usually cost about 1$ an amp)

here is a powerseller i like to buy from, i havent bought amps from them b4, but i would check these out
