how to transcode 1080i avchd video to 1080p?

is there video converter software can convert my sony camcorder (1080i) to 1080p? since my video editor software prepare progressive video than interlaced scanning video.

handbrake is with de-interlacing engine which may help you out on this issue.

And the only commercial HD video converter i have used is WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe, but cannot make sure its de-interlacing function work or not.
