It's an entertainment system. I don't have enough room for both the sub woofer and the speaker unless I put the speaker ontop of the sub woofer. Is this safe?

If it is the tweeter or the squealer(as most people call it) then not only is it safe but also it will give you a nicer sound experience. So go ahead. Also just to inform you all entertainment systems nowadays come with magnetically sheilded speakers. So even if you place all the speakers together ( even though it would be pointless and you wouldn't get the surround sound effect) you can be sure that none of them would be damaged.

Its not really a good idea; you might try it though if you have no other choice... I would use a mouse pad or towel though to separate the sub from the speaker, thye sub will transmit vibrations into the speaker that can interfer with the sound quality so you want to try and cut some of those vibrations down...also the vibrations can cause buzzing and even feedback in some extreem cases....

it won't influence the overall performance in the experience that the subwoofer will nonetheless be working as that's meant. what is going to replace even nevertheless is the bass as you modify into attentive to it. Is the subwoofer downward, rearward or forward firing? IE does your sub have a small hollow in it the place air rushes out - is that hollow on the backside back or front of the subwoofer? each and each subwoofer has a diverse optimal placement. some would desire to bounce the pontificate of a solid floor as an occasion. in case you have a downward firing subwoofer, the appropriate of your table would be too sound absorbent. the terrific wager is to attempt it in some diverse positions and see what sounds terrific. you will no longer injury it or something nevertheless via putting it in a sub-optimal (ugh virtually a pun) place.
