ok guys please before u answer read this in detail.i have a sony muteki 6.2 channel home theatre system.just google the name if you have any doubt.it has two bass speakers and 6 surround speakers.on its label,it supports blu ray and dvd from 5.1 upto 6.1 and 6.2 surround.it just lacks one speaker which could make it 7.2.anyway its a new system and not old,so it would support near HD sound.it has hdmi inputs and outputs for bluray player.it has 3 inputs for HDMI and one HDMI output for the tv.so atleast i can be confident it supports near HD sound.so the fact is that in its manual it supports DTS digital and dolby digital but no dts HD or dolby true HD.now i have an hp lappy that is of 4gb ram, with ati radeon 64700HD graphics card.now i have downloaded drivers that will allow HD audio bitstreaming.so i have power dvd 12 that can decode the dts HD sound.so now my question is:

i have 2 HDMI cords,
Q1.so can i use power dvd to decode the DTS HD signal, then send the sound over to my amp via HDMI cord, then take the hdmi output cord and connect to my tv.ive not tried this yet.i know that i will get picture and sound, but my doubt is,will i be able to hear dts hd sound from my speakers if my pc does the decoding and then sends the sound over to the amp?

also since i dont have 7.1 system, still , there are hd movies that also outputs sound with 5.1,and 6.1 with dts HD and dolby true HD instead of 5.1 with the old dts digital and dolby digital.

Q2.so can i watch those movies with that sound?

HdMI does not deliver a decoded sign the sign is sent interior the digital area and the gadgets DAC's decode the sign; there's a reason for doing it this way... If its decoded earlier then you definately are sending the sign then you definately are sending an analog sign that's susceptible to degradation and noise and does not gain the optimal high quality sign by way of degeneration; DTS digital will sound extra effective; the only distinction between DTS digital and DTS grasp HD is that genuine HD is able to seven.a million encompass and additionally the sign isn't as compressed...you ought to learn the distinction between a digital sign and analog sign and additionally the distinction between DTS digital and DTS grasp and the reward of analog and the reward of digital...and how they are the two effected by way of our environment...

The amp has to be able to decode the DTS/HD signal. It's a diffferent format than DTS. Without something decoding the signal you won't be able to hear it properly. But then you suspected all that, right?
