Your really not going to future proof because next year or the year after they will come up with something you haven't heard of yet or some new way of doing it......I would just keep what you have now at the time your ready to go 4k you can see whats available probably at a less expensive price as the technology will trickle down to less expensive models....

First off, you are not going to see any difference between 4k and 1080P in screen smaller than a 65". So far there are only a few Blu ray disc that is mastered in 4K and there are no players that support 4K. Normally I would connect the player directly to the tv and then connect a cable from the from the to the receiver. Some players also will have two HDMI output which you can connect one to the receiver and the other to the receiver. The OPPO 103 blu ray disc player provides you with 2 HDMI output. I connect one HDMI to the projector and the other to the Pioneer Elite 68. While the OPPO 93 is connected directly to the Panasonic Plasma tv 65" and use the multi channel audio 7.1 via rca jacks to the Krell Showcase pre amp and then to a power amplifier. I have personally used Pioneer Elite receivers for well over 35 years and never had one issue, I would recommend you keep the Pioneer Elite rather than Denon. Hope this will help you out.

You can't go wrong with a Pioneer Elite receiver. They are some of the safe receiver in the market. I have in my opinion used Pioneer Elite receivers for well over 35 years and by no means had an trouble. Three months in the past I purchased a new Pioneer Elite receiver SC-67 for $13,995 and in the beginning around $1995. An additional just right receiver is the Onkyo. You're going to see extra Onkyo and Pioneer Elite receiver being encouraged with the aid of house Theater journal and the Denon or any other company. Hope this will help you out.
