since a mp3 format is basically compressed audio you will never get "cd" sound. you can use a stereo mini jack that has digital out, monster cable makes them you will probably want to buy the xbox toslink cable it comes with the converter, try and stay away from fm transmitters they arnt very good in metro area it is like using a cassete player. sux! you wont have better sound but their is a way to do it i hope this works for you

If your iPOD supports it, use it's FM transmitter option. Use your Onkyo's FM receiver, and the the connection would be wireless, but excellent connection, like a digital one.

It won't sound any better with a digi connection duder. Yhe MP3's on your Ipod are lossey compression. Just get a headphone jack to rca adapter and call it a day.

I don't know if there are any that you can do with digial signal. I know there are fm tuners that you can use in the car and I would assume that you could use it on a normal stero also.
