I picked up an old fashion 3M overhead projector at an auction. I would like to show some of my old family photos on the wall with it at a family reunion as well as some old childhood drawings on construction paper that are done with crayon. Can you tell me how to run this machine so it shows up on a wall. Thanks!!

Overhead projectors need transparencies. You can't project opaque things like photos or construction paper. If you go to a place like staples, they can scan and print them onto overhead transparency sheets.

An overhead projector works by shining light through a transparancy and projecting the image on the wall. You can't project an image through construction paper or photographs, unfortunately, so this probably will not work for you.

My parents have one of these....I'm assuming that you want to show old slides? If so, the best bet is to get a projector screen and projection bulbs from ebay and you should be all set...!

FYI - My parent projector is over 40 years old and still works beautifully.....Kenmore, if I'm not mistaken.

Good Luck!
