ok guys please before u answer read this in detail.i have a sony muteki 6.2 channel home theatre system.just google the name if you have any doubt.it has two bass speakers and 6 surround speakers.on its label,it supports blu ray and dvd from 5.1 upto 6.1 and 6.2 surround.it just lacks one speaker which could make it 7.2.anyway its a new system and not old,so it would support near HD sound.it has hdmi inputs and outputs for bluray player.it has 3 inputs for HDMI and one HDMI output for the tv.so atleast i can be confident it supports near HD sound.so the fact is that in its manual it supports DTS digital and dolby digital but no dts HD or dolby true HD.now i have an hp lappy that is of 4gb ram, with ati radeon 64700HD graphics card.now i have downloaded drivers that will allow HD audio bitstreaming.so i have power dvd 12 that can decode the dts HD sound.so now my question is:

i have 2 HDMI cords,
Q1.so can i use power dvd to decode the DTS HD signal, then send the sound over to my amp via HDMI cord, then take the hdmi output cord and connect to my tv.ive not tried this yet.i know that i will get picture and sound, but my doubt is,will i be able to hear dts hd sound from my speakers if my pc does the decoding and then sends the sound over to the amp?

also since i dont have 7.1 system, still , there are hd movies that also outputs sound with 5.1,and 6.1 with dts HD and dolby true HD instead of 5.1 with the old dts digital and dolby digital.

Q2.so can i hear the movies in that sound from my speakers if my pc can decode the signal and send the decoded signal to the amp?

No, you can't. Your sound system must has DTS-HD MA decoder onboard.

HdMI does not send a decoded signal the signal is sent in the digital domain and the devices DAC's decode the signal; There is a reason for doing it this way... If its decoded before then you are sending the signal then you are sending an analog signal which is susceptible to degradation and noise and does not achieve the highest quality signal due to degeneration; DTS Digital will sound better; the only difference between DTS Digital and DTS Master HD is that true HD is capable of 7.1 surround and also the signal is not as compressed...You need to read about the difference between a digital signal and analog signal and also the difference between DTS digital and DTS master and the advantages of analog and the advantages of digital...and how they are both effected by the environment...

with the intention to take heed to DTS/HD you need to be waiting to decode the sign. that is a various format than DTS. in case you have a gadget this is purely DTS able the DTS/HD sign reverts to known DTS. No foul, no injury purely no DTS/HD.
