Please help set up my Creative Inspire P5800 speakers?

Hello, I'm trying to set up my creative inspire p5800 5.1 speakers on my laptop. I do not have the correct sound card and I was wondering if any one knew of a sound card, an express card or USB, that works with a Toshiba A665-S5170 laptop. I have the appropriate cords and I have a Creative USB sound blaster (Model sb0490), but when I plug everything in there is only sound coming out of the two front speakers, nothing from the sub woofer or rear speakers. I'm totally stuck and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I recommend removing the Creative software suite, keeping the USB card during this process, and start over again. Re-install the Creative software suite AND be sure to download the latest drivers from Creative USA for your Toshiba laptop. Then plug in the USB sound card and let the computer install drivers again.



The Creative / Sound Blaster user interface should have settings for 5.1 audio. Be sure you are using them and not Windows or the Toshiba interface for your settings.
