Hey all,
I currently doing a University project and need to know the make and model of:

- A 35 mm projector that can project long distances?

- Any format of projector that can project at least 250 meters?

If anyone could help me out here I would be very thankful. Sorry if this makes no sense to people who know what they are talking about in this area of expertise...

Cheers

Chris - That is 820 feet!!

Why does the projector need to be that far away from the screen????

It will not work well no matter how you do it.

You need to get the projector within 20 meters or so from the screen to be effective.

No professional AV designer would ever attempt this - it does not make sense.

If you go to a large outdoor concert with screens, the projectors are almost always BEHIND the screen and the projector is pretty close to the screen (within 10 to 15 meters).

There are no 35 mm projectors in the market that can project a picture that distance. Only professional projectors like movie theater can do that. Beside that the 35mm projectors are no longer availble. Current projectors can handle 10 to 15 feet at max for the cheap ones. Buy a Home Theater Magazine March issue, it list just about every projector made today. Hope this will help you out.

With the right lenses, and clear still air, it might be possible. Try talking to a technical sales critter at some industrial projector manufacturer. Like NEC Viewtechnology; they made one with 14,000 lumens 4 years ago, so they may have something a bit brighter by now.

25.0 Meters easy

250 meters impossible. It would need a pretty powerful light source.
