We just signed up for Netflix this evening, and tried to watch Elizabeth on instant. We're using an internet connected blu ray player, and everything else sounds fine, but playing things from Netflix has terrible audio quality. I don't know how to describe the sound, but it's something I've heard before, like if your headphones are malfunctioning or something, or you're listening underwater. Loud sounds are clear, and background noise is fuzzy - dialogue is nearly impossible to make out.
Is this a common problem? How can it be fixed?

Movie downloads do not have as good a sound quality as disks do, if your using a receiver you can make adjustments to your Dolby pro logic settings or Dolby II, to make it better, if its only the TV then you will have to make adjustments to the sound settings while the movie is playing to try to optimize the sound, then you will probably have to readjust it for disks and TV listening some HDTV's will give you the option of more than one user setting that can be switched with just one push of the button....

This happened to my dad's TV when we were watching a movie. It turned out, for us, the solution was simply fixing the surround sound via a button on the remote. That might do it for you.
