That will work with my bell expressvu 3100 receiver, Sony dvd/vcr combo drive(slv-d55op), Sony tv, Phillips home theatre in a box (HTS3555).

Try one of the Logitech Harmony remotes, you will not find a better universal remote anywhere. I own the Harmony 880 model, which will control up to 15 devices. The Harmony 890 and One have a better button layout, and the 1000 is a touchpad remote. The price range is between $150 and $500 depending on where you purchase them and the model. These are macro based remotes, no learning necessary to set them up. Just plug them into your computer via a USB cable and configure the devices you wish to control with it will download a macro to the remote. They also have a learning feature as well, but it is quicker and simpler to configure your devices and "activities" (watch tv, play console game, watch movie etc; it will turn on the proper devices with the touch of a single button) with the included software. I have an Advent HD TV, a Panasonic Home Theater system, a Scientific Atlantic cable box, an Xbox 360, a Phillips VCR and a Magnavox book shelf system and it functions with all them without a problem.

It might work. But there is a bigger possiblity of not working since all the companies are way different.
