Get you an inexpensive receiver by Sherwood ot Yamaha like the RD5405 and speakers by yamaha or Jamo...

You're looking in the wrong places. Apparently you are only looking at HTiB's (Home Theater in a Box). This is the most entry level approach and far from the best approach. You should be looking at individual components like receivers and speaker systems. You can not only get just the pieces you need but you can also get much better quality this way.

There are some surround sound systems you can buy... just do some searching on the internet on google or one of those search engines. I just found some, but most of them offer a DVD with the surround sound. I found a couple though like i said....

You are definitely looking in the wrong places.



There are dozens of surround sound speaker systems available. Decent ones start at around £400.



As a few examples, you can buy speaker-only packages from Monitor Audio, Q-Acoustics, Canton, Dali, Quad, Wharfedale, B&W, Tannoy, Dynaudio, Jamo, Mission, Naim, PMC and Revel, to name a few.



Like I said, you're looking in the wrong places...
