Think of a regular old audio receiver. Multiple input channels, TV, Radio, CD, etc.
I want one with a channel for audio from my PC, mp3 files on my computer. I see networked audio players like Sonos but that's not what I'm looking for. I want to be able to stream files from my computer through a single receiver that I also use for home theater with my tv.

What works?

This is possible if you have multiple sound cards on your PC. Run a cable from your computer to your tv/receiver. I dont know if you are familiar with this cable, one end looks like headphone jack and another like RCA connectors. But with this setup to run a long cable.
