I have a pretty advanced Stereo system and wondered if and how I could hook up this car amplifier to it to power a subwoofer. I would think it can be done, but who am I to say. Anyone have any ideas?

I believe you can.....but....You will have to buy a 120 to 12V converter and you have to be sure that it can supply enough amps. If you notice when you go into an electronics place (i.e. Best Buy) they all have car amps/radio's running off 120 volts. I don't know where you could buy the converter but...GOOD LUCK.

It is Possible. But before I tell you how, you must know that you will have to Build a 12 to 14 Volt Power Supply. It will Cost you only about $20, but you will have build it yourself. I would only recomend you build it, if you have good soldiering skills. You will need the Estimated* following Parts:
A Transforer that will take 120Volt to about 12Volt
2 High-Current Diode's
2 12 or 15Volt Capacitor's
House-hold Wall Outlet Plug
Plenty of wire Terminal's
Circuit Board
15 Gadge Wire
