I have av receiver yamaha rxv-640 in the present but I want to buy a new one because my rxv-640 doesn’t have hdmi inputs & new features such as dolby true hd, dts-hd master, 1080p upscale, & such. I like yamaha, denon, harman kardon, & pioneer. Which brand do you think is the best midrange price av receiver? I mostly use for movies & games.
-For movies I use blu-ray & dvd. I love action & science fiction movies.
-For games I use xbox360 & ps2. I love playing rpg, strategy, & action games.

I use all Yamaha speakers & subwoofer in the presents. What is the best speaker & subwoofer brand is suitable for the new av receiver? I can think jbl, b&w, yamaha, infinity. Thanks for the help.

Comparison shop with Yamaha and Pioneer. Denon and HK are more expensive for the same features. You might want to consider Sony as well.

To keep cost to a mininum, keep your the amp, spkr and sub. You did not indicate if you have a LCD or Plasma display. But it does not matter. Most people route their signal thru an A/V amp then out to their Flat screen, If you want to do this, then checkout manufacturers that has HDMI, S-Video, Composite and Component input/output. Also check your Flat Screen if it has this input/out. If you don't have a Flat Screen, check out the Samsung for a flat screen and compare the picture quality side by side with the other brands. Samsung has a sharper, brighter and clearer picture.

Hi joe so why not buy yourself a good pair of headphones, because only you will want to hear these sounds. your room mate may want to study when you are game playing and would find it difficult to read and concentrate with you making lots of noise. music it might be to you but to him and your neighbors it is just a lot of noise. so be a bit more considerate to others. or you could get some real grief like a fist in the mouth. Not every body is interested in what you are doing, so think about others and turn it down or just use head phones.

I came across this deal earlier and had to recommend it. 4 HDMI inputs, 1080P upscaling, HD audio formats, Ipod ready, Sat radio ready, multi-zone receiver and a 5.1 Klipsch packaged at a discount. Enjoy.
