Question:
Outdoor Antenna be Used Inside?

I was wondering whether or not an outdoor antenna (http://www.antennasdirect.com/C2-Clearstream-DTV-antenna.html) could be used inside my house and outperform an indoor antenna. I intend on placing it on a dresser on the second story of my home with a J mount (http://www.antennasdirect.com/antenna_mounts.html) on wood.

You’re on the right track with respect to indoor antennas... An outdoor antenna such as Antennas Direct ClearStream 2 will work as an indoor antenna, though other antennas may provide slightly better performance. The radiation pattern of the ClearStream 2 shows the antenna to be noticeably less directional than a good 2-bay bow-tie antenna. The more directional an antenna the easier it is to overcome multipath interference. Multipath (which is exacerbated by using an antenna indoors,) along with co-channel interference can contribute to noticeable DTV reception problems.

One of the best indoor UHF antennas currently available is the DB2 antenna from Antennas Direct. A very similar (and perhaps better constructed) 2-bay bow-tie antenna is also available from Channel Master - model number CM-4220. (By the way, avoid purchasing the bundle if you choose to purchase the DB2; you can do better selecting your own components separately.) To quote Ken Nist: “Excellent outdoor 2-bays are now available: the DB2 by antennasdirect.com and the 4220 by Channel Master. They are small enough to use indoors, and as such are presently the highest performing indoor antennas available.” You will also quite likely need to take steps to ensure your ability to pick-up high band VHF signals (channels 7 through 13, 174 - 216 MHz) for those local stations that are still using that part of the spectrum for DTV broadcasts. (Double check the relevant TV Fool and FCC Webpages for detailed information on your local TV stations.)

One other note: you should always attempt to place an (indoor) antenna well away from all horizontal surfaces; therefore you would be better served if you explore other approaches to mounting your antenna. A tripod or weighted-base stand, with vertical sections constructed of 1" to 1-1/2" diameter metal tubing extending at least 60 to 72 inches high, would be a better, more flexible solution for mounting a high performance antenna indoors. At the bottom of my list of resources I have included a short list of well-known manufacturers of equipment stands.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

i think the completed length of the climate p.c.. up indicators. in the event that they may be produced from plastic, i'm enormously much particular they may be. each little thing else which would be produced from plastic is... Aluminum would not rust which might probable be undesirable for reception because of the fact the layer of corrosion have been given thicker. A rusty antenna particular does no longer look wonderful... a reliable high quality antenna and mast should not be broken by utilising wind. i've got seen them final many, some years.
