I just got Logitech 2.1 speakers for PC & TV. The 2 side small speakers work, but the subwoofer doesn't. Is it likely defective or is a connection not right? The speakers have the red/white female connections, which I hooked to a strand that have male connectors on both ends, which then I hooked to the DVD player that has a female end.

Your description explains that it is the right connection.

However, did u try it with your PC, and is the Sub' working?

If it is not working wirking with ur PC either, take it back and get a replacement.

Make sure that the connection from the speakers to the sub' is connected right and the whole system is plugged into a live plug in ur AC outlet.

One thing u should realise is that the sub' does not work all the time; There are specific low frequencies of the output sound which triggers the working of the subwoofer. So try songs with high bass outputs and dip notes; The talking and simple music will not trigger and result in the working of the sub.

One other thing is that, try selecting Languale 2.1 from the sound(Audio) menu of the DVD movie which you are playing .and select sound 2.0 in the menu of ur DVD player and check whether the subwoofer is working.

Goodluck
